Our Covenant · Amānah
This community is an amānah — and it rests in your hands
Battut was built so Muslims can connect, share, and be seen — without leaving their deen at the door. But no filter, feature, or moderator can keep this space pure on its own. Battut stays clean for one reason only: because you, and every believer beside you, choose to keep it clean.
Your duty as a Muslim here
The same manners Islam asks of us in the marketplace and the masjid, it asks of us on the screen.
Lower your gaze
Scroll, post, and interact as one who knows Allah sees them. What you would be ashamed to be seen doing has no place here.
“Tell the believing men to lower their gaze…” — Qur’an 24:30
Guard your tongue — and your keyboard
No mockery, no backbiting, no words that wound. If it is not good, leave it unwritten.
“Let him speak good or remain silent.” — Bukhārī & Muslim
Conceal, do not expose
Protect the honour and privacy of others. Do not spy, do not spread sin, and do not amplify what should be hidden.
“Do not spy on one another, nor backbite one another.” — Qur’an 49:12
Forbid the wrong
When you see something harmful, report it. Removing evil — even by a single tap — is an act of faith, not a betrayal of your brother or sister.
“Whoever sees an evil, let him change it with his hand…” — Muslim
Battut cannot stay clean without you
There is no army of watchers behind the screen. The safety of this space is carried by the ummah that uses it — passed, hand to hand, between people who fear Allah.
Every report you file, every unclean thing you refuse to share, every gentle reminder you give a brother or sister — that is what keeps Battut a place a believer can call home. Neglect it, and it becomes like everywhere else.

Carry it further
Report what harms the community whenever you see it. And if Allah has placed this concern in your heart, step forward and help guard it for everyone.
