Frequently asked questions
What is Battut?
Battut is a halal social media app for Muslims. You can share posts, reels, stories and Khawater (short written reflections), follow creators and message friends in a space moderated for Shariah compliance. Think of it as a Muslim alternative to Instagram and X.
Is Battut free?
Yes. Battut is free to download and use on iPhone, Android and the web.
How does Battut keep content halal?
Uploads are screened automatically for content such as nudity and hate speech before they reach the feed. On top of that, Shariah Guards (community moderators) review reported content, and every member agrees to the Community Covenant.
Is music allowed on Battut?
Battut is designed for music-free sharing. Videos are checked for music, and the in-app tools can separate background music from voices so you can post a clean version.
Can I try Battut without an account?
Yes. Open app.battut.app and choose "Explore as Guest" to browse the feed and reels. Create a free account when you want to post, comment or message.
